Under-standing is essential to a life lived well.  Under-standing is the wellspring from which your thoughts and emotions spring.  Therefore, the greatest threat to you is whatever distracts you from true under-standing.  That distraction is an idol, whether you are fixated on adoring it or fixated on destroying it.
